We’re Hiring Drupal Developers in Philadelphia!

DLC Solutions is seeking an in-house Drupal developer to  join our Center City Philadelphia development team.

DLC Solutions produces EthosCE Learning Management System (built with currently with Drupal 6) for continuing professional education. EthosCE is an enterprise-level web application and is used by major medical universities, insurance companies, associations and corporations.

Our development style is a blend of traditional waterfall, which we use for standard application deployments, and agile methods, which are used for developing new features. Developers work in a team environment and participate in product management, development, testing, and support. As a member of the team you will participate in bi-weekly planning meetings, daily standup meetings and sprint reviews, where features are presented to clients.

So, why should you work for us? We develop products, not just websites, and you will be a key member of the product team. With dozens of clients, you can constantly iterate and improve your code as new product versions are pushed out. Your contributions will be used by people all over the country as a crucial part of their professional education. The challenges provided by product development allow you to grow by becoming intimately familiar with a complex application. If you want to learn, there are lots of opportunities. If you take pride in the quality and elegance of your work, you’ll get the chance to own and refine the codebase. Want to upgrade a major application to Drupal 7 or 8? You’ll get the chance here. Contribute to the Course module? Yep, you can do that.

We have room for developers experienced with either coding or configuration, but you must be willing and able to do both. As such, candidates more experienced in site building  should be familiar with configuration of modules such as Views, CCK, Organic Groups, Context, Features, Services, and reviewing, installing, troubleshooting and patching various other contributed modules. Interest in user experience and/or interface design is a plus.

All candidates should be experienced in object oriented programming, PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML, MySQL, and Apache. Our developers work with integrating external applications and candidates will need experience with web services using SOAP, REST, or JSON. Knowledge of Git and Subversion source control systems, testing, continuous integration and the SDLC are also important.

Experience with system administration, performance tuning, shell scripting or deployment engineering would helpful.

However, strong candidates lacking one or more qualifications will be considered, especially if you have interesting projects under your belt or show a history of learning new skills quickly.

A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Analyzing client requirements and recommending appropriate solutions
  • Design and development of custom modules
  • Working with support desk to troubleshoot client sites
  • Updating and maintaining client websites
  • Site configuration
  • Participating in planning and estimates with project manager and team leads
  • Working with the development and deployment teams to improve internal processes and recommend new tools

We provide a flexible, friendly work environment including 401K and health benefits.

This position is located at our Philadelphia office at the corner of Sansom and 13th in Philadelphia.
