(Reston, VA – June 1 st , 2006) In an effort to improve the treatment of patients with advanced gastrointestinal cancer, DLC Solutions, LLC, is pleased to announce the launch of http://www.gicancer.org/. GICancer.org is dedicated to enhancing the delivery of effective multidisciplinary, patient-centered care by educating physicians and nurses on effective therapies for gastric cancer, side-effect management, and future research directions. The Web site currently offers expert presentations, virtual patient case studies, and other engaging elearning programs for physicians and nurses. Our distinguished faculty includes:

  • Dr. Jaffer Ajani, Professor of Medicine in the Department of Gastrointestinal Medial Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center examining the role of chemotherapy in advanced gastric cancer.
  • Dr. Peter C. Enzinger, Clinical Director of the Gastrointestinal Cancer Center at Dana Farber Cancer Institute discussing the combination chemotherapies and targeted therapies in the management of advanced esophagogastric cancer.

“It is very encouraging to see the emerging trends and recent advances in the treatment and research of gastric cancer. Due to the aggressive nature of gastric cancer, it is imperative that physicians, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals embrace a multidisciplinary, patient-centered approach to care. We believe that that CME programs available on GIcancer.org will translate into a broad knowledge base within oncology community and enhance the overall quality of care for those affected by gastric cancer,” stated Jeremy C. Lundberg, MSSW, Chief Executive Officer, DLC Solutions, LLC. The Web site is supported through an unrestricted educational grant by sanofi-aventis.
